Illustrations from The Lord of the Rings

In 1985, as Christmas gifts for my friends who were fans of Tolkien, I designed a calendar, using my own artwork, done black and white, in pen and ink.  Each month used an illustration of some event which took place in that month.  Some of the drawings are still pretty good, to my eye, others stink; some I reused years later as illustrations for a "program book" for a party with a LotR theme; those were computer colorized.  Other pieces were done as gifts, using mixed media.  Here you will find a few of the better pictures.
