Renascence No, this is not a misspelling of "renaissance." It's a form of the word renascent, which was first used in the late 1700s to refer not only to that period in history but the process of rebirth. Before setting up my own website, when I originally attempted to post this on fanfiction.net, the first three or four "reviews" part one received were people ever so kindly informing me that my title was a typo, that the word is spelled "renaissance." Sorry, guys, go look it up in a less abridged dictionary. It's a word primarily used in poetry -- one of my favorite poems is "Renascence" by Edna St. Vincent Millay -- but it's a real word. That was the point at which I realized ff.n was not the appropriate venue for me, and after several other forays that proved equally ill-suited, I decided the time had come to set up shop for myself. So if there was one specific thing for which you can thank or curse the existence of this website, it's this story. |
